Lois I. Meisner
September 1, 1933 - November 14, 2015
Lois was born on September 1, 1933, to Ray E. Biber and Peg
Biber in Kearney, Nebraska. She passed away on November 14,
2015, at HopeWest Hospice in Grand Junction, CO.
Lois moved to Grand Junction with her mother, step-father,
and sister, where she graduated from Grand Junction High
School and then later, Mesa Junior College, as it was known
back then.
In 1954 she took a job with Union Carbide in Rifle, Colorado.
She made many lifelong friends at "Carbide", and she met the
love of her life, Robert "Bob" Meisner in Rifle. They were married
on July 4, 1955 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. They
made their home in Rifle, where their daughter, Robin, was
born. They lived in Rifle for many years.
Lois worked in accounting at Cleveland Cliffs Iron. After that
company relocated, she worked as a "temp" several places, and
finally Bob convinced her to get her real estate license and join
him at their business "Rifle Realty". She retired from Rifle Realty,
and she and Bob moved to Grand Junction.
Lois was very artistic and enjoyed painting watercolors, making
stained glass pieces, fabric arts and quilting, and reading.
She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed entertaining.
Lois and Bob enjoyed their many jeep trips and trips with the
Grand Junction Gem and Mineral Club, and their summer spent
in Alaska. Lois also traveled extensively with family and friends
to Russia, England, Scotland, and Ireland.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jerry;
nephew, Steven, and her husband, Bob. She is survived by their
daughter, Robin (Jeff Hoelscher) Jenkins; grandsons, Ryan (Michelle)
VanTeylingen, of Rifle and Chance (Courtney) Jenkins,
of Silt; great-grandchildren, Kyle VanTeylingen, and Caeson
and Cada Jenkins; her brother, Jim (Dora) Biber of Grand Junction,
and sister, Sharol Biber of Aurora. She is further survived
by sisters-in-law, Natalie Meisner of Ventura, California, and
