Christopher J. Delaney of Steamboat Springs died Aug. 2, 2000, in Gore Canyon near Kremmling. He was 34.

Chris was born Nov. 23, 1965, in Bloomington, Ind., to Robert Delaney and Linda (Bowton) Delaney. He was a 1985 graduate of Juneau High School in Juneau, Alaska, and attended Indiana University. He lived in Steamboat Springs for the past seven years and was employed as a bartender at the Ore House and the Slopeside Grill.

Chris was an outdoor enthusiast and excelled at telemark skiing, kayaking, hiking and mountain biking.

Survivors include his mother, Linda Delaney of Silver Spring, Md.; his father, Robert, and his wife, Ann, of Richmond, Ind.; brothers, Kier and Alex of Steamboat Springs and Eric of Mound, Minn.; his girlfriend, Michelle Quinn of Steamboat Springs; grandmothers, Grace Delaney of Delphi, Ind., and Mary Jane Bowton of Syracuse, Ind.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service was held Aug. 7 at Dr. Richard Weiss Park in Steamboat Springs with Father George Schroeder officiating. He was cremated. Peterson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
