Ozella A. Shea

Delta, Colorado resident, Ozella A. Shea, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at her residence. She was 83 years of age.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Delta, Colorado with Father Richard Haldane officiating.
Burial will follow in Delta City Cemetery.
Ozella Audell Allmon was born on April 15, 1932, to Robert
O. and Cleo Irene (Bever) Allmon in Ulysses, Kansas. During
her childhood, the family moved to the Surface Creek area of
Colorado. Ozella graduated from Delta High School with the
Class of 1950.
On July 24, 1950, she married the loved of her life, John V.
“Jack” Shea in Aztec, New Mexico. They celebrated 54 years of marriage before Jack’s passing in 2004.
Ozella was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, the
Rosary and Alter Society, Bridge Club and Cowbelles. She
enjoyed bowling, knitting, sewing and fishing. Her great
enjoyment was spending time with her family.
Ozella is survived by her son, Steve (Becky) Shea; daughter,
Mary Shea, all of Delta, Colorado; daughter, Margaret (Mitch)
Harmon of Whitewood, South Dakota; a brother, Doyle (Sandy) Allmon of Rifle, Colorado; three sisters, Lola Marshman of Grand Junction, Colorado; LaRee Cooper of Westcliffe, Colorado and Roberta (Jim) Barrington of Windsor, Colorado; five grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Ozella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a
son, John Patrick Shea; daughters, Kay Montgomery and
Marlene Shea; grandson, Danny Montgomery; granddaughter,
Heather Albrecht; great-granddaughter, Mary Albrecht and
brother, Ernest Allmon.
The family suggests memorial contributions to be made in
Ozella’s memory to HopeWest Hospice, P.O. Box 24, Delta, CO 81416.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor
Funeral Service and Crematory.
