Russell Allen PING, 73, of Northridge, CA passed away April 18, 2002. Russ had lived in Durango over 30 years. He is preceded in death by his father Floyd, mother Lucille and step-father Dennie EATON, brother James and sister Irene KIMMINAU. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; and children Mike, Ron (JoJo), Rick, Kathy (Bob) HAMMER, Karen (Josh) ZIMMERMAN, Todd (Felicia), Linda Gail (Paul) CARLIN; step-sons Bud and Bob MILLS; also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and many friends.
A memorial service on Saturday, June 8, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Olinger Highland Cemetery and Mortuary.

Russell Allan[sic] PING, 73, died at the TLC Hospice Facility in Northridge, California on April 18.
Born on June 7, 1928 in Eagle, Mr. PING attended school at Eagle High School in Eagle. He and his wife JoAnn moved to Durango, where he lived for the last 30 years.
He served in the Army being stationed in Japan and Korea. He was a lifetime member of VFW in Durango, and a former member of the LaPlatte County Sheriff's Posse. Mr. PING operated a batch plant for Burnett Construction and for SandCo Sand and Gravel in Durango before retiring to California.
His father Floyd PING, Mother Lucille EATON and Stepfather Dennie EATON, Brother James and Sister Irene KIMMINAU, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn; children, Mike, Ron (Jo Jo), Rick (Sandi), Kathy (Bob) HAMMER; Karen (Josh) ZIMMERMAN, Todd (Felicia), Linda Gail (Paul) CARLIN; stepsons Bud and Bob Mills and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, at 2 p.m. at Olinger Highland Cemetery and Mortuary, 10201 Grant St. in Thornton. Contributions may be made to TLC Hospice Facility, 4762 Maureen Lane, Moorpark, CA 93021.
