Craig resident, Grayden Neal Spears, died on Monday, May 16, 2016, at his home in Craig. He was 14. A funeral service honoring Grayden’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016, at The Church of Jesus Christ of LatterdaySaints in Craig. Burial will follow at Craig Cemetery. Grayden Neal Spears was born the son of Brian and Mindy (West) Spears on December 31, 2001, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. He spent his life in Craig, attending Sandrock Elementary and Craig Middle School. Grayden was smart, quiet and mostly shy. He loved learning new things and enjoyed participating in basketball, football and track. In his spare time, Grayden appreciated watching movies with his mom, hunting with his dad, playing video games and archery with his brothers and studying his family history. He was a member of Boy Scouts, Young men’s and was active at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in Craig. He will be fondly remembered for his cheesy giggle and sweet infectious smile. Grayden is survived by his parents, Brian and Mindy Spears of Craig? and four brothers: Gage, Garrett, Gaven and Gregory Spears all of Craig. He is further survived by a large extended family. Grayden was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Suzanne Spears and Marilyn West? and one aunt, Cordy WestCoon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Grayden’s memory to the Grayden Spears Memorial Fund in care of Yampa Valley Bank.
