Awilda Pearl LISTER of Rifle, formerly of Minturn, died Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Vail Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. LISTER, 67, was a homemaker and professional artist.
She was born Dec. 30,1921, in Cherokee, Okla., the daughter of Tom MEDEARIS and Elsie McEwen MEDEARIS. She moved at the age of 8 to Glade Park, Colo., where she spent her girlhood years and attended schools through the eighth grade.
She was married March 30,1939, in Grand Junction to Roy L. LISTER. He preceded her in death in June of 1980 at Grand Junction. The couple resided in Colorado Springs and later in Minturn, before moving to Rifle in 1972.
Surviving are three sons, Roy E. LISTER of Colorado Springs, Joe A. LISTER of Steamboat Springs, and John L. LISTER of Rifle; one daughter, Awilda J. FOWLER of Steamboat Springs; one brother, Thomas MEDEARIS of Denver; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m., at the Callahan-Edfast Chapel in Grand Junction, with the Rev. Eldon COFFEY officiating. Burial followed at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grand Junction.
