ANDREW CHRISTENSEN PASSED AWAY WEDNESDAY.
Following an illness of several weeks, Andrew CHRISTENSEN of Eagle died in the Glenwood Springs Hot Springs clinic Wednesday night.
Definite arrangements for funeral services had not been made yesterday. Mr.CHRISTENSEN, long time resident of Eagle, had retired from the cattle business a few years ago and lived at his home in West Eagle. His wife, Louise Thomas Christensen, passed away a few years ago. He suffered a stroke a few weeks ago and at that time was taken to the Glenwood hospital and had been confined there until the time of his death.

ANDREW CHRISTENSEN BURIED IN DENVER SUNDAY. PIONEER CATTLEMAN LAID TO REST BESIDE HIS WIFE LOUISE.
With the death of Andrew CHRISTENSEN at the Host Springs Clinic in Glenwood Springs Wednesday of last week, June 2, Eagle county lost one of its foremost citizens.
Mr. CHRISTENSEN had lived in the county for more than forty years during which time he had been prominent in all civic affairs of the town and county, having resigned as a trustee of Eagle last April because of poor health.
Andrew CHRISTENSEN was born on November 20, 1871, at Hassing, Denmark, and died in Glenwood Springs, Colo., June 2, 1948. He came to the United States May 5, 1886 on the vessel Tinvalle, landing at New York. Four years later, 1890, he came to Eagle,and had been a constant citizen of the county ever since.
So far as is known he has no living relatives in this country. A brother, Chris, visited him here many years ago, but as he was considerably older than Andrew, he is presumed to be dead. The whereabouts of a nephew is also unknown. His wife, Louise T. CHRISTENSEN, died in the Presbyterian hospital in Denver, July 10,1944.
Mr. CHRISTENSEN was one of the first breeders of purebred Hereford cattle in western Colorado, and the blood of his fine herd is still carried by some of the best herds in the state. When he sold his entire herd to Paul HAHNEWALD a few years ago, he retired from the cattle business.
His associates in the cattle business made him many close friends over the state who will learn of his death with regret. The community as a whole will miss him and take his death with sorrow.
Funeral services were held at the Catholic church in Eagle Sunday afternoon and burial made in Denver, the remains being laid beside those of his wife, Louise.
