MIZE: Edna MIZE, 89, of Hurley, passed away Wednesday, May 6, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Bright Funeral Home. Kr. Kyle KNEEN and Chaplain David STRAIN will officiate. Interment will be in Memory Lane Cemetery.
Mrs. MIZE was born Aug. 24, 1908, in Holly, Colo., the daughter of John CROUGH and Maude Dumas CROUGH. She was married to Howard Leighton MIZE on Oct. 8,1928, in Leadville, Colo.
Mrs. MIZE is survived by her husband of 69 years, Howard; a son, Mary MIZE, and his wife, Shirley, of Mimbres; two daughters, Phyllis MIZE of Mimbres, and Beverly LEMKE and her husband, Randall, of Mimbres; seven grandchildren, David MIZE, Bill MIZE, Rick LEMKE, Lori MOON, Debbie LEMKE, Bryan MIZE and Brandon MIZE; three great-grandchildren, Walker Remington MIZE, Ashley Nichole MOON and Brandon Leighton MIZE; and two sisters-in-law, Pearl MIZE and Phyllis Crough SIMONDS.
Mrs. MIZE was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to work crossword puzzles, and to cook and sew for her family. Her family was her life. Mrs MIZE was a member of the Hurley Community Church and Ladies Aide, and was a Cub Scout leader.
Pallbearers will be David MIZE, Bill MIZE, Rick LEMKE, Randy LEMKE, John DIVINEY and Allard BARTLETT. Honorary bearers are Brian MIZE and Brandon MIZE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gila Regional Medical Center hospice or home health programs at 1313 32nd St., Silver City, NM 88061. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
