Pearl A. MIZE, long-time resident of Salida, died March 7, 2001, at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center.
Pearl was born Dec. 21, 1911, in Red Cliff, the first of seven children born to Blanche and Victor DUMP.
She graduated from Red Cliff High School in 1928 and then attended business school in Denver.
In 1933 she married Harry MIZE in Denver. [Family confirmed September 2, 1934 as wedding date.]
Pearl was a homemaker until 1946 when she started work in the Red Cliff grocery store. The family moved to Salida in 1972, where she continued to enjoy her retirement.
Her favorite activities included walking, bowling and staying in contact with a large circle of friends and family. She thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Eastern Star activities for many years and held various positions throughout the years.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, in 1980.
MIZE is survived by sister, Ruby CRYE, Los Osos, Calif.; brothers, Charles (Joy) DUMP, Tucson, Ariz. and Ron DUMP, Leadville; son, Richard (Ann)MIzE, Anghorage, Alaska; granddaughter, Richell (Scott) BLOOMQUIST; and grandchildren, Chadd, Megan and Britni BLOOMQUIST, all of Anchorage, Alaska.
Services will be held at 10 a.m.Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, 7 Poncha Blvd., Salida.
