Shirley Frances McGirr, 74, Clifton, died Feb. 28, 2016, at
HopeWest and Hospice Care Center.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Brown’s Cremation
Service chapel. Services will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brown’s chapel.
Mrs. McGirr was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Daryl; three sons, Fred Leonard of Las Vegas, Bruce Leonard of Frisco and Clinton Moon; three daughters, Barbara Koepke of Clifton, Jackie Fisher of Fruita and Cathy Satterfield of Grand Junction; one brother, Wayne Norris Buehler of Fairbury, Nebraska; 25 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

McGirr passed away on
February 28, 2016, at
HopeWest Hospice. She was
born March 2, 1941, to Orval
and Myrtle Buehler in
Hollenberg, KS. Her
vivacious personality brought
her on adventures across rural
Kansas and Colorado. She made Grand Junction her home and
spent her last 14 years married to Daryl McGirr. Her family was
her joy, and she raised seven children. Her oldest son, Floyd,
was born in 1958, and was followed by Barbara, Fred, Bruce,
Jacqueline, Catherine, and her youngest, Clinton, was born in
1978. These children, and eight step-children filled her home
with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a patient
teacher of love and respect, and this will be her legacy.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; nephews,
Montgomery Buehler, Derek Moore, and Jeff Woodside, and
son, Floyd Moosburger.
She is survived by brothers, Wayne "Butch" Buehler, Robert
"Bobby" Buehler, and sister, Linda (Buehler) Moore; daughters,
Barbara (Leonard) Koepke, Jacqueline (Moon) Fisher,
Catherine (Moon) Satterfield; sons, Fred Leonard, Bruce
Leonard, and Clinton Moon; step-children, Monte McGirr,
Mark McGirr, Mari (McGirr) Shawcroft, Karen (McGirr)
Gosser, and Marci McGirr Story, as well as 25 grandchildren,
and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services have been held.
