Charles Joseph Hetzel
September 30, 1941 - February 24, 2016
Charles “Charlie” joined the love of his life, Marie, on February 24, 2016.
He was born in Williston, North Dakota to William Sr. and Grace Hetzel.
Charlie was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed collecting religious mementos and other cultural items. Charlie regularly visited Catholic Outreach and took his friends’ dog, Duke, for
daily walks. He moved into the El Poso neighborhood in his
60’s and embraced close relationships with many neighbors that became his extended family. Charlie also had many friends who worked at Strive.
Charlie married Marie Abeyta. They enjoyed being
independent and took care of each other, until her passing.
Left to hold Charlie in their hearts and memories are brother,
Eddie (Kerri) Hetzel; his sisters, Carolyn (Dave) Noel, and
Debra Jean Hettzel. He has surely already joined those that leftahead of him, Marie; William Sr. and Grace; brothers, William Jr. “Billy”, Jack and Richard; and sister, Barbara Hedge.
A memorial celebration will be held at the Riverside School on
Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.
