Helen Marie Kearney, 81, Grand Junction, died March 4, 2016, at HopeWest and Hospice Care Center. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. with the service to follow at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2881 Orchard Ave. Burial will follow at Palisade Cemetery. Ms. Kearney was a nurse. Survivors include three sons, Lon Thomas Richardson of Fort Bridger, Wyoming, Scott Evard Richardson of Fruita and Sterling Matt Richardson of Casper, Wyoming; two daughters, Kristi Lynn Mease of Collbran and Arna Kay Hoffman of Clifton; one sister, Lorna Dee Fowler of Lovell, Wyoming; 19 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren. Helen Marie Kearney was born July 17, to Thomas Elmer and Agnes Sara (Coles) Whittaker, in Evanston, Wyoming. She grew up and graduated from high school in Evanston. Helen and Arnold Richardson were married on June 23, 1954, in Evanston. Helen was a nurse and lived in Moab, Utah and Collbran, Colorado before moving to Grand Junction, where she has lived for 46 years. Her hobbies were painting, crocheting, knitting, her grandchildren, and genealogy.
Helen is survived by her sons, Lon Thomas Richardson, Fort
Bridger, Wyoming; Scott Evard Richardson, Fruita, Colorado,
and Sterling Matt Richarson, Casper, Wyoming; daughters,
Kristi Lynn Mease, Collbran, Colorado, and Arna Kay
Hoffman, Clifton, Colorado; sister, Lorna Fowler, Lovell,
Wyoming, 19 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Richardson, who passed away June 11, 1970 in Grand Junction, Colorado and her second husband, Phillip Kearney; brothers, Richard "Dick" Whittaker and Thomas "Butch" Whittaker, and her parents.
There will be a visitation at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, March 10,
2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2881
Orchard Avenue, Grand Junction, Colorado, with the church
service to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the
Palisade Cemetery, Palisade, Colorado.
