Brown Goodson passed away
on April 2, 2016, at LaVilla
Grande in Grand Junction,
Colorado.
Geri was born August 28,
1931, to Charles and Edna
Trogdon Brown in Calhoun,
Missouri. She grew up in
Henry County, Missouri where she attended school in Clinton,
Missouri. She married Patrick Goodson (they later divorced),
they lived for many years in Oklahoma and had four children.
She attended Northeastern State College where she received her
home economics degree. She moved to Grand Junction in 1970,
and accepted a teaching position at Palisade High School. In
1981 she opened a day care for young children under the name
of Geri’s Children Center. Later she would transfer that care to
her home.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia and her
parents, Charles and Edna Brown. Geri is survived by her older
brother, Thomas Dale Brown, Hudson, Wisconsin; her three
living children, Marie (Michael) Guccione, Troy (Lori)
Goodson and Phyllis (Ken) Simms. She has 11 grandchildren,
Christopher Morrison, Shane Morrison, Michael (Nicole)
Guccione, Andrea (Andy) Blevins, Jet Goodson, Jennifer
(Austin) Krohn, Chance Goodson, Derek Goodson, Levi (Beth)
Goodson, Angelica (Stewart) Curry, and Sarah Simms and 15
great-grandchildren.
She loved her flower garden and her very large yard. She could
be seen there at all hours in the day taking care of her flowers
and yard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HopeWest
Hospice, 3090B North 12thStreet, Grand Junction, CO 81506 in
Phyllis Goodson’s name.
A visitation will be held from 6 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7,
2016, at Martin Mortuary. A celebration of Geri’s life will be
held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2016, at Memorial Gardens
Cemetery.

Phyllis Geraldine “Geri” Goodson, 84, Grand Junction, died
April 2, 2016, at La Villa Grande Care Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Martin Martuary.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
She was a daycare provider and teacher.
Survivors include one son, Troy of Clifton; two daughters, Marie
Guccione of St. Charles, Missouri, and Phyllis Simms of Grand
Junction; one brother, Thomas Dale Brown of Hudson, Wisconsin;
11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
