Edgar Frank Bolton
June 6, 1955 - March 17, 2016
Edgar Frank Bolton was born on June 6, 1955, at Corona Naval
Base in California and grew up in Colorado. He died recently
of a hemorrhagic stroke.
Ed served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War
then graduated from Mesa State College in Occupational Health
and Safety. His home was the world and he worked in International
Mining for 38 years before retiring last fall. He had the opportunity
to work on every continent on the globe with the exception
of Antarctica. He was passionate about his profession,
leading teams to excel in mining safety and in the process winning
four Sentinels of Safety awards. Outside of work he enjoyed
fishing and taking his sons water skiing.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Bolton and their children,
Katherine Batten, Angela Laird, Alex Laird and Gregory
Laird, plus a granddaughter, Amelia Batten; his mother, Janet
Bolton; brothers, Fred Bolton and Dan Bolton; sister, Lenora
Milligan, and seven nieces and nephews, Amber Bolton, Sarah
Bolton, Audrey Bolton, Ashlee Abeyta, Matthew Milligan, Jacob
Milligan and Jessica Carter.
Ed will be missed by his family and friends as he made a huge
impact on their lives as Carol’s true love and soul mate, his children’s
mentor, his sibling’s "big brother" and his role as the favorite
uncle of the various nieces and nephews. To Amelia he was
her "Papoose" and to the world he was the unique cowboy with
the hat and handlebar mustache - his brand. Cheers to you Ed as
you continue the journey of a lifetime to the other side.
