Kenneth Andrew GERARD, 94, a lifetime resident of Gypsum died Jan. 27 at his ranch house in Gypsum.
He was born the son of Andrew and Fannie (HENSON) GERARD on Sept. 2, 1897 in Gypsum. He married Dorothy DOLL on Jan. 26, 1919 in Denver. She preceded him in death on July 1, 1977.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Arm during WWI from 1918 to 1919. He was Charter Member of both the American Legion Post #150 and the Crown Lodge #14, both in Gypsum.
He was an old cowpuncher and loved to ride horses for the enjoyment and working with cattle. He loved sitting in his rocking chair at his ranch house on the porch visiting with friends and who ever happened to stop and talk. He also enjoyed spending time at his cabin up in Gypsum Creek.
Survivors include Roland "Andy" L. and Elizabeth GERARD, Gypsum; Keith R. GERARD, Gypsum; Clayton H. GERARD, Bridgeport, Neb.; Claude L. and Mary Jo GERARD, Gypsum; Mort and Starr DOLL, Eagle; and Frank and Imogene DOLL, Avon; and several grand nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Friday, Jan. 31 at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Gypsum at 1 p.m.with Pastor HANSON officiating. The American Legion Post #150 of Gypsum gave Military Honors.
Contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #150, 419 2nd St., Gypsum, CO. Farnum-Holt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
