Robert "Bob"
Wilcoxon
November 10, 1934 - April 8, 2016
Bob Wilcoxon went home to
his Lord and Savior on Friday,
April 8th after a 15 year battle
with Parkinson’s disease. He
was 81.
Bob was born in Dalton,
Georgia. He served in the
military and was honorably
discharged in 1966. As a
young adult, Bob lived in Roswell, Georgia where he married
Beverly Mansell in 1955. Together they raised two daughters,
Robbi and Mari Jo. At his passing, Bob and Bev had been
married for 61 years.
Bob was a businessman, salesman, and entrepreneur. In 1982,
he and Bev moved to Colorado as part of a project to start a
Christian youth camp, The Wilds of the Rockies. Bob’s charm,
work ethic, and strength of character helped him to be
successful in every venture in which he was involved.
Bob was a licensed pilot, enjoyed fishing, camping, golf and
telling stories. Mostly, Bob enjoyed people. He was always
smiling, always kind, and his southern charm and simple
manner made it so that anyone who met him had a new friend in
an instant.
Bob is survived by his wife, Beverly; brother, Jerry (Jennifer)
Wilcoxon of St. Simons, GA; his two daughters, Robbi (Dave)
Nelson of Denver and Mari Jo (Bob) Richardson of Grand
Junction, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 13th at 3:00
p.m. at New Elmwood Cemetery.
