Genevieve Crumly
February 20, 1967 - March 12, 2016
Our beautiful daughter lost her battle with Huntington’s disease on March 12, 2016. Her family was by her side.
Genevieve was born to Lonnie and Pauline Crumly in Grand Junction. She was a graduate of R-5 High School.
For the next year and a half, she took care of her dad, who also suffered from Huntington’s disease. After his death, she went back to school and got a degree in medical transcription and medical secretary.
She was a full pledged sports fan. JUCO, Mavericks, Broncos,
Rockies; she never missed a Mavericks home game and
attended all of JUCO games from first to last. She attended the games with her brother, James, until a couple of years ago,
when her health made it impossible. Genevieve was a big fan of Muhammad Ali, her prize possession was a picture of her with Ali.
She loved her family and enjoyed all family functions. She and
James were inseparable. She was blessed with very special
angels who took care of her; her mom, James, Lucy, who was so caring and wonderful with Genevieve, and cousin, Cecilia, who sang to her, read the bible and prayed with her.
Genevieve was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie;
brother, James, who also suffered from Huntington’s disease;
grandparents, Pedro and Genoveva Montano; James and Bertha Crumly, and Nellie Crumly.
She is survived by her mother, Pauline; aunts and uncles,
Estella (Mel) Kaufholtz, Mary Ann (Ben) Romero, Becky
Montano, Michael Montano, David (Lisa) Montano, Steve
Montano, Novetta (Ray) Short, Phornia Birt, and many cousins.

Mortuary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph’s
Church on Thursday, March 17, at 2:00 p.m. with Father Juan
