Thomas Gamble 1934-2016
Thomas Gale Gamble passed away peacefully in his sleep on Oct. 26, 2016, at his son and daughter-in-law's home due to complications from C.O.P.D.
Tom was raised in Eagle, Colo. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Later, he rode rodeos in Colorado and eventually built dams with his brother, Ted, and brother-in-law, Joe Fear. They became know as the "dambuilders" in the early '60s.
In 1968, Tom moved with his wife, Betty, and four children to Anchorage, Alaska. When he first arrived, he built ice roads on the North Slope. In the summers, he worked construction and became a member of the Operators Union 302. He ran heavy equipment and later became superintendent on many projects in Alaska. Tom was also a member of The Woodworkers Club in Anchorage. During that time he won many awards for his craftsmanship in furniture building.
Tom is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Gamble; and son, Michael Reynolds. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Diana Reynolds, Talithia (Gamble) Peterson and Theresa (Gamble) Davis; three sons, Leonard (Genie) McCulloch, Melvin (Theresa) Reynolds and Sonny Gamble; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Tom's wish was to have no service, but to be cremated and have his ashes placed on his recreational property alongside his first wife, Betty. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/adn/obituary.aspx?n=thomas-gamble&pid=182452140&fhid=9291#sthash.drO7W6JE.dpuf
