Karen Sue Sauter, a former Vail Valley resident, died Monday of natural causes. She was 46.

She is survived by her parents, Donald and Sally Shrum; brother Steve Shrum and his wife, Teri; sister Laurel Groff and her husband, Dean; nephews Tyler and Shawn Groff; and Daisy Greenwell. Visitation was Thursday. Services are at 1 p.m., Friday at Northwest Church in Denver. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
