Michaelene Barbara Kent, 85, Clifton, died June 3, 2016, at St.
Mary’s Hospital.
Services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday at Veterans Memorial
Cemetery of Western Colorado.
She was a registered nurse.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur; one son, Arthur Jr. of
Clifton; one daughter, Barbara Anne Kent of Clifton; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Michaelene “Mike” Barbara Kent, 85, passed away June 3, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Mike was born on August 12, 1930, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania, the only child of Laura and Michael Paule.
She graduated from the Pittsburgh University School of Nursing in 1951. In 1959, Mike and her best friend LaVerne, moved across the country to California where she met the love of her life, Arthur Benjamin Kent, Sr. in October. After dating for two weeks, Arthur popped the big question and Mike said, “No!”. Art was relentless and Mike gave in when he asked again in December. They eloped to Las Vegas, Nevada on January 6, 1960.
They lived in Norwalk, California and had two children,
Arthur Benjamin Kent, Jr. and Barbara Anne Kent. In August
1966, they moved to Clifton, Colorado where they have lived
ever since. Mike was the Director of Nursing at Teller Arms
Nursing Home and Palisade Living Center for many years. She
retired from nursing in 1996 while working for Hilltop
Rehabilitation Center.
Mike is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Arthur
Benjamin Kent, Sr. and two children, Arthur Benjamin Kent, Jr.
(Brenda) of Clifton, Colorado and Barbara Anne Kent also of
Clifton, Colorado. Mike is also survived by ten grandchildren,
Cynthia (Sean) Cornett of Midland, Texas; Rebecca (Anthony)
Suorez of California City, California; Benjamin (Robyn) Kent
of Walker, Louisiana; Abigail (Sam) Palmer of Fruita,
Colorado; Mariah Ray of Fort Worth, Texas; Andrew Ray of
Fort Worth, Texas; Chad Kent of Clifton, Colorado; Clay Kent
of Clifton, Colorado; Kameron Kent of Clifton, Colorado, and
Bethany Kent of Clifton, Colorado. She has two greatgrandchildren, Lilly and Adon of Walker, Louisiana. She has an “adopted” granddaughter, Brandy (Jeremy) Ventrello of Fruita, Colorado and their daughter, Baileigh.
Mike loved all animals and was especially close to her beloved
pug, Peggy Sue. Because of this, in lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to Roice-Hurst Humane Society on her behalf.
Services will be at the Grand Junction Veteran’s Memorial
Cemetery this Friday, June 10th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.
