James HOYT, brother of Ammi HOYT of Wolcott and Ralph of Eagle, died in the Routt County Hospital, Steamboat Springs April 10, following a heart attack. He was 80 years of age.
He was born in New York state July 25, 1885 and came to Oak Creek as a young man, working with surveyors when the Moffat Railroad was built in that valley.
He was the son of Augustus and Emily HOYT.
The funeral service and burial were in Oak Creek, where he had lived most of his adult life, April 12. Pallbearers were Rudy NOVAK, Chas. GREGORY, Cecil ROREX, Vincent GOEDDEL, Saprio CALLAS and Mike LONG.
Mr. HOYT is survived by his wife, Harriet, several grandchildren; three brothers, Ammi of Wolcott; Ralph of Eagle and Leander of Kremmling and one sister, Margaret ASMUSSEN of Oakland, Calif. His parents, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
