BURON HIGHT DIES.
Buron HIGHT one of Eagle county's most highly respected citizens died in a Denver hospital Friday, September 19, 1941.
Mr. HIGHT had been a sufferer from poor health for over two years, and the first of last week was taken to the hospital from his home in the Burns neighborhood in hopes that he could be relieved. Mr. HIGHT was a splendid citizen, and will be sadly missed by the entire community.
Buron HIGHT was born May 27, 1881, at Canon City, Colo., and departed this life September 19, 1941, at Denver,Colo., at the age of 60 years, 3 months and 23 days.
He was reared in Freemont county, and at the age of 22 was united in marriage to Miss Etta Wilson PHILLIPS of Yampa, Colo. To this union two children were born. The family resided in Freemont county for sixteen years, where Buron HIGHT was engaged in stock raising. In the spring of 1919, he moved his family to Eagle county, where he has resided continuously until the time of his death.
He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, Mrs. Etta HIGHT; one daughter, Mrs. Albert E. GATES; one son, Paul HIGHT; six grandchildren, all of Burns, Colo.; and a sister, Mrs. Mary BEAN of Wetmore, Colo.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Buron HIGHT was a devoted husband and father, and his friends were legion. He will be greatly missed and sadly mourned in the community where he lived and was so highly respected.
Funeral services were conducted in Gypsum Monday afternoon attended by a large concourse of friends,who gathered to pay their last respects to a man they greatly admired and loved. Rev.O. F. ARCHER, pastor of the Methodist church delivered the funeral discourse, and the body was laid to rest in Cedar Hill cemetery under direction of the Andre Mortuary.
During the funeral services a trio--W. H. LEA, Chas. STANLEY, Dorothy GERARD--accompanied at the piano by Mrs.Charles YOUNGER, beautifully sang a number of hymns.
Paul [sic] bearers, all old friends of the deceased, were: Chas. ALBERTSON, Wm. ALBERTSON, James GATES, Fowler OVERTON, Dell FACKLEN, Willard ATWOOD.
