John F. Muirhead, 77, passed away March 16, 2000 at his home in Buhl. God saw that he was getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around him and whispered, "Come with Me". With tearful eyes we watched him suffer, and saw him fade away. Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, a determined spirit was at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. John was born July 10, 1922, in Sumner, Neb., to John D. and Bertha Lagerberg Muirhead. He grew up in Steamboat Springs, CO. When he was 16 years old, he moved with his family to Buhl. He served in the armed forces during World War II in the Pacific. While on furlough, he met Jean Beach and they were married on June 6, 1947. They were blessed with three children. He enjoyed working on the ranch and hauling wood. His biggest love was his family and they will miss him a lot. He is survived by his wife, Jean; daughter, Pam Jim Downes; son, John D. of Twin Falls; 3 granddaughters, Kalia, John Odom, Kristel and Sunny Muirhead. 2 sisters, Helen Osterhoudt of Washington and Jane Brevick of Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Ann; his parents; and sister, Eleanor Tolin. His wishes were to be cremated with no services. Memorial donations may be made in John's name to Friends of Hospice, 200 2nd Ave N, Twin Falls, ID 83301. A special thank you to Pam from Hospice.
