Stuart Allen Canada died March 16, at his home in Twin Falls, Idaho. He was 66.
Allen was born to John Morrow and Florence Atkins Canada in Elwood, Neb., on Jan. 8, 1938, and was educated in Bertrand, Neb., and Denver, where he graduated from South High School in 1957.
Canada served in the Army as an MP in Korea and represented the Army on the National Rifle Team. He then returned to Denver and enrolled at Southern Colorado State College, where he served as class president, later transferring to the University of Denver in 1965 to study real estate construction management. He married Sharon Sue Granzow in 1966.
Throughout his career, he worked in the real estate industry, and for the past several decades enjoyed his business as a real estate broker in Colorado, California and Idaho communities. He owned Canada’s of Vail Ltd. and several other real estate companies. He most recently worked as a broker with Irwin Realty in Twin Falls, Idaho. He was a member of the Twin Falls Board of Realtors, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and a board member with the Twin Falls Planning and Zoning Commission. He was named Twin Falls Realtor of the Year in 1999.
He said he found the perfect the perfect mix of good friends, clients and ample hunting opportunities in Twin Falls. Friends said he was an avid sportsman and reader, enjoyed traveling and took great pride in his children and their accomplishments.
Friends said Canada will be greatly missed. He is survived by his best friend and brother, Dean S. Canada of Vail, his best friend and dog Kelly II, as well as three children, Michael Dean Canada of Edwards, Lea Michalle Canada and Stacy Lynn Allegri of St. Charles, Mo., and his grandchildren Cassandra Lynn Allegri and Jackson Rian Canada.
A celebration of Canada’s life and memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, at the Vail Chapel.
