Hazel Luark Died in Glenwood
Hazel Mary Luark, wife of Ed Luark of Burns, died Jan 1 in Porter Hospital in Glenwood where she had been a patient for the past several weeks.
Mrs. Luark, prominent in the Burns community, became ill a year ago when her illness was diagnosed cancer and had spent much of the time in Denver and Glenwood hospitals.
Hazel Mary Frichtel was born at Hamilton, Colorado Feb 23, 1906 and as a child lived in Hayden, where she graduated from high school then attended Battle Creek College.
June 21, 1940 she was married to James Edward Luark at Price, Utah, and the couple had made Burns their home for the past 13 years.
She is survived by her husband; one son, Teddy Grand Luark; her moth, S. Marie Keller Frichtel of Olathe. Two sisters, Ruth Barker of Grand Junction and Esther Harmon of Olathe and one brother, Harry Frichtel of Hayden also survive.
Funeral services were held at the Burns Community Hall Sunday afternoon, Jan 4, and burial was in the Glenwood cemetery. Rev. Vengel Horton of Grand Junction gave the funeral address, arrangements were under the direction of Burdge Mortuary of Glenwood.
Mrs. Luark was a member of the House of Prayer for all People Church and belonged to the Rebekah Lodge.
