Linnie Beth Dean Dupree, 1929-2003
Long-time Eagle Valley visitor Linnie Beth Rose Dean Dupree died Jan. 30.
She was born April, 10, 1929, in Phoenix, attended Clarkdale High School near Cottonwood and married Jesse Daniel Dupree. The couple moved to Denver, as well as to several Midwestern states.
She loved nature, friends said, and spent many hours outdoors in the desert and mountains. She enjoyed gardening and cooking with fresh vegetables and fruit she had grown.
Linnie was known for her beautiful voice. She sang for special occasions, in church choirs and operettas. Her greatest love was her family.
Linnie is survived by: sister, Hazel Cole (William) of Cortez; twin sister Lena Inman (William) of Phoenix; son James Robert Dupree (Diana) of Poland, Ohio; daughter Debra Dupree Batten (Robert) of Eagle; granddaughter Danielle McGrew (Derek) of Noblesville, Ind.; grandson Aaron Dupree of Danville, Ill.; grandchildren Daniel Robert Batten and Abigail Rose Batten, of Eagle; and three great-grandchildren. She was buried near her husband in southern Ohio.
