Robert "Bob" Campbell died Dec. 26 in Hays, Kansas wher ehe lived. He was 81.

Born Nov. 5, 1916 in Fitzhugh, OK to George W. and Donnie M. Campbell, his family moved to a homestead on Milk Creek near Wolcott, and every fall the mother and children moved to Eagle where the children attended school. Bob graduated from Eagle High School in 1935. Bob retired with 25 years of service from the US Air Force at Randolph Field, Texas as a lieutenant colonel. In 1938, he married Annecy Mae Hernandez in Lafayette, LA He later married Mary Lou Rupp of Hays, Kansas. He lived in Tucson, AZ after retirement and later moved to Hays.

Burial was in the East Lawn Cemetery with full military honors in Tucson. A son, Lynn Campbell, is also buried there. Survivors are his wife, Mary Lou; two daughters: Bobbie Mae Hood of Alexandria, KY; four stepsons; George Erbacher of Tulsa, OK; Chris Erbacher and Dan Erbacher of Greeley and Charles Erbacher of Hays; two stepdaughters: Mary Schumacher of Hays and Lori Erbacher of Tiburon, CA; two brothers: Carl of Grand Junction and Elton of Great Falls, MT; a sister: Edith Wells of Poudre, Colo; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
