Dale W. Marah, 86, Cedaredge, died July 5, 2016, at the Delta
County Memorial Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Evangelical Free
Church in Cedaredge.
Survivors include his wife, Bertie; two sons, Kevin of Las Vegas,
Nevada, and Mark of Colorado Springs; one daughter, Deanna
Marah of Montrose; two stepsons, Monty Stroup of Mesa and Kelly
Stroup of Bakersfield, California; one brother, Patrick Marah of
Cedaredge; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

May 29, 1930 - July 5, 2016
Cedaredge, Colorado resident, Dale W. Marah, passed away on
Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Delta County Memorial Hospital in
Delta, Colorado. He was 86 years of age.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday,
July 9, 2016, at New Hope Evangelical Free Church in
Cedaredge, Colorado.
Dale Wildean Marah was born on May 29, 1930, to Joseph Patrick
and Mary (Goodwin) Marah in Cedaredge, Colorado. He
spent his childhood and attended school in Cedaredge until his
senior year when he moved to Depoe Bay, Oregon to live with
his older brother. He graduated from Depot High School.
Dale proudly served his county in the United States Army. After
discharge from the US Army, Dale resided in California and
worked as a heavy equipment operator for 30 years.
Dale married Bertie Ruth (Tracy) Marah on February 27, 1984,
in Montrose, Colorado. They resided in Cedaredge until his passing.
Dale owned Grand Mesa Construction and helped build the
Cedaredge Golf Course. He was a member of the Operating Engineers
Union.
He enjoyed restoring old cars and loved giving instruction.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Bertie Marah of
Cedaredge; two sons, Kevin (Ellen) Marah of Las Vegas, Nevada,
and Mark Marah of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his daughter,
Deanna Marah of Montrose, Colorado; two step-sons: Monty
Stroup of Mesa, Colorado, and Kelly (Jackie) Stroup of Bakersfield,
California; brother, Patrick (Gwendolyn) Marah of
Cedaredge; sister-in-law, Beryle Marah, also of Cedaredge; five
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary
Marah; three brothers, Floyd Hamilton, Bill Hamilton and Ed
Marah, and two sisters, Helen Kungle and Rosella Martin.
