Scalding Fatal to Child
A 2-year-old Red Cliff girl seriously scalded Friday at a hot water tap in her home, died Sunday in Colorado General Hospital.
Carol Charboneau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Charboneau, received severe burns on legs, back, and stomach.
Mrs. Charboneau said she found Carol lying on a living room couch crying after the mother returned from outdoors. She apparently climbed into the kitchen sink and turned on the hot water.
The child was treated at the New Jersey Zinc hospital in Gilman and then taken to Denver by Minturn Fireman Harvey Cline when her condition became worse.
The child is survived by her parents, Frank and Marie; a twin brother, Carol, and a brother, Robert, 1 year. The family moved to Red Cliff three months ago.
Carol was born in Sacramento, CA July 29, 1956. Funeral services will be in Minturn Saturday afternoon a 2 o'clock, directed by Bowman Mortuary of Eagle.
