Robert J. Adamo, 91, formerly of Richmond, VA passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at his residence in Streator, IL.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church, Streator. In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation. Private family burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in River Grove, IL.
He was born January 20, 1925 and raised in Waterloo, NY., the son of Joseph and Rose (Garofalo) Adamo. He married Ethelmae “Sue” Seaman on October 13, 1945.
He is survived by a son, Wayne (Lisa) Adamo of Steamboat Springs, CO;
daughters, Debra (Jim) Muhlstadt of Streator, IL and Roberta (Rick) Carroll of Moneta, VA; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one sister, Joyce (Jerry) Kennedy of Monroeville, PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and his brother, Ralph Adamo. He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology, worked as an engineer for Reynolds Metals Company for 35 years and is credited with a patent. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was an avid Duplicate Bridge player, loved to garden and enjoyed sailing. He volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond for many years.
