DEATH OF LESTER WATSON.
Friends in Eagle of the Watson family were shocked Saturday evening to hear of the death of Lester WATSON at Canon City.
Mr. WATSON had long endured a long period of suffering, having been operated upon more than nine weeks ago for appendicitis, and while he has had rallying spells during that period, there had not been much hope of his recovery at any time since the first operation. Following that peritonitis set in, and about a week before the end another operation was performed in a forlorn hope of saving his life.
Lester WATSON was a native son of Colorado, having been born in Fremont county thirty five years ago, and spent his entire life in the state. He was the younger brother of George and Ed WATSON, Eagle county ranchers living above Wolcott, and had lived here, being employed by his brothers on their ranch at various times. He left Eagle last fall, after having spent the summer in the employ of F. L. NEWCOMER, and it was not many weeks after leaving here that he was seized by his last and fatal illness.
He was a young man full of life and pleasure, who made many friends, who will regret his untimely death.
