CHILD DROWNED IN LAKE AT BOND LAST WEEK
Ten-Year-Old Lad Falls From Raft on Which He and Companions Were Playing and Drowns Before Help Can Rescue Him. Charles Wesley Claycomb, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Claycomb, lost his life last Thursday, July 8, whan ha fell from a raft in a lake, near his home and was drowned. He and a small companion, Keith Alumbaugh, were playing on the raft when the unfortunate lad fell into water beyound his depth and he was unable to swim out. Keith at first did his best to save his companion , but finding this impossible , ran for help. Mrs . Jesse Sperber and Harry Sanford located the body in about eight feet of water. They together with Jack O'Grady and Geo. Griffiths, recovered the body and administered expert first aid , but he was beyond human help. Charles Wesley was born May 27, 1927 , at Evergreen , Colo ., and departed this life July 8 , 1937 at Bond Colo . Funeral services were conducted at the McCoy Community church , Rev . Kenneth Johnson and Rev . Henry Dahl of D . B . I „ Denver con
ducting the services . Safe in the Arms of Jeaus , and God Be With You Till We Meet Again , were sung by Mrs. Lenora Stifel and Mrs. Jessie Groh, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Mary Sanford , and Rev . Ralph Obbits on the trombone . Interment was made : in the cemetery at McCoy . Charles was known to his host of friends as an unusually bright and manly little fellow . He was a favorite in groups much older than he Great quantities of beautiful flowers heartfelt sympathy and friendliness have helped to soften this blow that falls so heavily zypon the bereaved family. He leaves to mourn his passing , his mother and father , two sisters , Rosella and Mary Lou , and a brother , Billy . One brother , Glenn , preceded him to the better world . He is also survived by his maternal grandparents , Mr . and Mrs . L . S . Hervy of Longmont , Colo ., and his paternal grandfather W . B . Claycomb . Many aunts , uncles and cousins also miss the little fellow who was called so untimely . . . ( Communicated . )
