Charles Edwin Cate was born June 6, 1914 in Montrose, Colo. He died march 30, 1980 in Grand Junction. Parents are Walter and Jessie Cate. As a child, he lived in Southwestern Colorado, Naturita, Rico, and the Burns area. He spent several years in the Grand Junction area. He spent later years in Yakima, Wash. He suffered from chronic emphysema in his later years. He returned to Grand Junction area in September 1979. Survivors include four children: Freda Lesureur of Stanton, TX; Julia Jansen of Burns; Earle Cate of Longmong; and Rollie Cate of Grand Junction.
