Memorial services for Eagle County native Edna Correl were held March 26 in Daly City, CA. She was 88. Edna Wellington Correl was born September 6, 1896 at Edwards. She attended school there and later, Eagle County High School. In 1914, she married Nicholas Correl, who chose mining as his career. They lived briefly in Nederland, Colorado then moved to Edwards where Mr. Correl engaged in mining along Lake Creek. he preceded her in death. Their only son, Aaron, was killed in France in World War II. Two daughters survive: Barbara Gray of Stockton, CA; and Beverly Olsen of Daly City along with 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Lucia Spalding of Bethesda Care Center in Canon City and Esther Klatt of Edwards.
