John C. Jarrell Call 243-9839.
January 16, 1927 - July 2, 2016
John C. Jarrell of Grand
Junction, Colorado, passed
away on July 2, 2016, due to
complications related to a
broken hip. He was born in
Trinidad, Colorado, in 1927,
the only child of Guy P. Jarrell
and Ethel (Culver) Jarrell.
John did a tour of duty with
the Army just after the close
of World War II. As a Radio
Repairman, John provided support for portions of the
Nuremberg Trials.
He spent his entire professional career with a single employer,
Continental Airlines. This was a source of great pride. There
were many steps along the way, from working in avionics,
airframe and power plant, to working in the auto shop. John
loved the airline industry.
His talent and ability lay with his head and his hands. John was
an electronics whiz, a woodworker, a metal worker, a house
builder, a plumber, an auto mechanic, and virtually anything
else. A consummate handyman; always busy, always a project.
John is survived by his two biological children, Sandy (Danny)
Simon and Jeff (Mimi) Jarrell, and grandson, Wesley Simon. He
is preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Williams.
John married Ruby Loraine Armstrong in May of 1992. She
passed way in 2008. He is also preceded in death by stepson,
Roger Armstrong. John is survived by Loraine’s four adult
children, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
John, we will always carry your memory in our hearts.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July
18, 2016, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
