Graveside services were held Wednesday October 7 for Anna B. Cushman, 84, who died October 3 in Carbondale. A former Gypsum resident, Mrs. Cushman was born Sept 16 1908 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Art and Sara (Harris) Chriss. She married Joseph Cushman on Oct 23, 1928 in Harrison, Nebraska. The Cushmans moved to Eagle in 1956. Mrs. Cushman worked for the Salvation Army and attained the rank of Captain. She also helped start many senior citizen programs such as Brown Bag and the Senior Nutrition Center. She was a member of the League of Mercy, Ladies Home League of the Salvation Army and the Golden-Agers. her husband preceded her in death in 1977. she leaves behind many friends and one special friend, Beulah Jensen, of Gypsum. Rev. Bruce Dunsdon officiated at services held at the Cedar Hill Memorial Cemetery in Gypsum. Farnum-Holt Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
