AUGUST DICKSON DIED IN GLENWOOD SPRINGS
August Dickson, 85, resident of Glenwood Springs and formerly of Red Cliff, passed away on January 15, following'an illness. Funeral services were held from the Burdge Mortuary Sunday, Jan. 18 at 2 p. m. with Rev. Henry H. Baker officiating. Burial was made ’ in the Rosebud Cemetery under the ; direction of the Burdge Mortuary.
Mr. Dickson was born in Goteborg, Sweden, November 26, 1862, and came to America at the age of 20. He went direct to Red Cliff upon his arrival in this country and nine years later, on December 12, 1891, he was united in marriage to J Annie Silvanus [Sylvanis?]. To this union were born two daughters, Rosella and J Alvina. In 1894 the family moved J to the Roaring Fork valley, living | in Aspen, Basalt and Carbondale and | since 1909 have lived in Glenwood Springs. He is survived by his wife, Annie; two daughters, Rosella Dickson of Helena, Montana, Alvina Harris of Basalt; a grandson, Charles Harris of Carbondale; a granddaughter, Mrs. John Walczak of Helena, Montana; three great grandchildren, a number of neices and nephews and two brothers, Carl, aged 90 and Emil, aged 75 both living in Sweden.
