Wendell Mauth was born March 23, 1937, to Rudolph Mauth and Mallie Cline Mauth in Prowers County. He was 60 years old.
He married Janet Davis on April 15, 1960 at Alamosa. They had four daughters, Denise, Nanette, Lorna, and Stephannie,
Wendell was senior maintenance man for the Colorado Department of Transportation and was employed for 28 years. They moved to Hayden in 1981. Previous to that they lived in Walden and Alamosa. He was also in the Air Force and for awhile was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska and Rapid City, S.D.
He leaves his wife, Janet, of Hayden; daughters Denise and her husband Duane Leonard of Eaton, Nanetta of Steamboat Springs, Lorna and Her husband Allen Suits of Hayden and Stephanie of Craig; His brothers Floyd and Rudy of Alamosa; his sisters, Dolores Knapp of Alamosa and Esther Martin of Monte Vista; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Barbara McGuffey, Rita Mauth and Hester Martin.
The services were held on Saturday, November 1, 1997, at 2 p.m. at Grant Mortuary. Minister Bryce Sandberg officiated the service.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to Northwest Colorado VNA and Hospice the Craig office in care of Grant Mortuary.
