Grand Junction Daily Sentinel page 7B Obituary - July 20, 2016

Brenda Elizabeth Jackson
November 10, 1949 - July 16, 2016
On July 16 Brenda made her
journey home into the loving
arms of our Heavenly Father
and was reunited once again
with her beloved Bobby.
Brenda was born in Steubenville,
OH, on November 10,
1949, to Doris Grace
VanWey. She attended school
in Ohio and Alaska until she joined the Army. There she met the
love of her life who was also in the Army, Bobby G. Jackson.
After being Honorably Discharged, she married Bobby in 1968,
and they continued to travel the world for 20 more years while
he was in the service. In 1987, they settled down with their three
girls in Grand Junction, CO.
Brenda worked for the State of Colorado at the Grand Junction
Regional Center for 20 years. In 1991 she graduated Mesa State
College as a Registered Nurse, and continued to be a nurse at
the Regional Center until she retired in 2007.
She was very passionate about her family and spending quality
time with her grandchildren. She loved boating, camping, cooking,
and crocheting. She shared treasured moments and many
laughs with her close friends, most of which were boating in
Lake Powell, even as they continued to figure out who Alice
was.
Brenda will be sorely missed and remembered by all. She
leaves behind three daughters, Sabrena Jackson of Jacksonville,
FL; Kristina Haws-Jackson (Kelly) of Fruita, CO, and Jessica
Morris (Bobby) of Grand Junction, CO. She had 11 grandchildren,
Christopher, Amanda (James), Patricia (Lucas), Melissa
(Joey), Aaron, Kelsey, Kylee, Jackson (Bubby), Makayley,
Kayden, Adalynn, and one on the way!; seven greatgrandchildren;
three brothers, Adam Russell, Benjamin Russell,
Ronald Russell; two sisters, Mary Saulnier (Michael), and
Ruthie Helman (Eldon); and her uncle, Carl VanWey (Mary) of
Mesa, AZ.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Glen Jackson
(38 years); her father, Ronald Russell; her mother, Doris Grace
Russell (Maxine), and brother, John Russell. She and Bobby are
finally together for eternity, having the dance she so longed for.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016, from 6 -
8:00 p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Rd,
with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m on Friday, July 22, 2016. Interment
will follow at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery of Western
Colorado, with military honors at 1:00p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to HopeWest,
3090B N. 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506, or Colorado
