Lois Lorene Johnson
April 11, 1931 - September 5, 2016
Lois was born to Bernard and Alice Bascom April 11th, 1931. She was the oldest of four children. A brother, Thomas, passed away in 1970. She was raised and attended
school in Fruita, Colorado.
Lois had two children, Steven and Judy Beard, with her ex husband, Maurice "Steve" Beard who preceded her in death in 1990.
She married Randolph "Jiggs" Johnson in 1978. Widowed in
2007, Lois moved to Columbus, OH where her daughter and her family reside.
After a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s, Lois passed away in
her home on September 5th, 2016.
Lois worked for many years at the 1st National Bank and was
employed by the Elks Lodge in Grand Junction.
She was a prolific song writer and enjoyed collecting and
making dolls. Always a hard worker and a quick wit, she was
loved by all.
Lois is survived by her two children, Steven Beard (Michelle)
and Judy Miller (Richard); five grandchildren, Adrian Miller,
Amy Beard, Mitch Beard, Amanda Miller and Colin Miller.
Also surviving are four great-grandchildren; brother, Ned
Bascom (Beth); sister, Grace Pender (Ray), and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Inurnment will take place at the Elmwood Cemetery in Fruita
on Friday, October 7th at 10:00 a.m.
Please join us to celebrate Lois’ life, Saturday October 8, at
noon at the Grand Junction Elks Lodge. Come to share many,
many wonderful memories of this beautiful soul.
