James L. Gibbs
September 4, 1934 - September 17, 2016
James passed away on September 17, 2016, at HopeWest Hospice.
He was born on September 4, 1934, in Merrill, OR to James and Maxine Gibbs. He served in the Air Force and then went to Western State College where he met Betty, his wife of 54 years. He took on the responsibility of her four children.
James was an electrician and wired many homes in the valley
and beyond.
He is survived by daughter, Diana Brophy; sons, Christopher
(Jeri) Menzies, and Steven (Deb) Menzies, brother, Terry Gibbs; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents; daughter, Kathy, and brother, Ron Gibbs.
Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial is
planned for a later date.

HopeWest and Palliative Care Center.
Private services will take place.
He was an electrician.
Survivors include two sons, Christopher A. Menzies, and Steven
P. Menzies, both of Grand Junction; one daughter, Diana J. Brophy
of Grand Junction; one brother, Terry Gibbs of Wenatchee, Washington;
six grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
