Marie E. Edwards died Sept. 27 at La Villa Grande Care Center in Grand Junction after a long illness. She was 86. She was born September 8, 1899 in Leadville to Jacob and Mary Pate. She lived most of her life in Lake and Chaffee counties. She was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Neighbors of Wood Craft Lodge. Mrs. Edwards is survived by one son, Clifford L. Marshall of Santa Rosa, CA; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Hecter of Denver; one brother, Jack R. Pate of Buena Vista; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Cremation will take place and the remained will be buried at the cemetery in Red Cliff.
