Deirdre Kornfeld, 64, Grand Junction, died Sept. 9, 2016, at
HopeWest and Hospice Care Center.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the American
Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, George; one son, Christopher
of Niantic, Illinois; one daughter, Heather Wang of Castle Rock;
one brother, Ron Covey of Decatur, Illinois; one sister, Emma Jean
Welch of Decatur; and two grandchildren.

Deirdre Marie Kornfeld, 64,
passed away September 9,
2016, at HopeWest Hospice.
She was born on January 8,
1952, to Doris and Vada
Covey in Decatur, IL. Dierdre
married the love of her life,
George Kornfeld, in Decatur,
IL in 1972. Together they had
two children. She worked at Horace Mann Insurance and was
also a firefighter/EMT for a time in Illinois. She also worked at
Jan’s Hallmark and Coach House Hallmark in Grand Junction,
CO. She was a member of American Lutheran Church. Her
hobbies included leather craft and bead jewelry.
She is survived by her husband, George Kornfeld of Grand
Junction, CO; son, Christopher Kornfeld (Mickey) of Niantic,
IL; daughter, Heather Wang (Kai) of Castle Rock, CO; brother,
Ron Covey of Decatur, IL; sister, Emma Jean Welch of Decatur,
IL; and two grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her
parents.
Services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 10:30
a.m. at the American Lutheran Church, 631 26 ½ Road, Grand
Junction.
