Funeral services for Pauline Grace "Pinky" Fahey were held March 14 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Minturn. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery in Minturn.

Mrs. Fahey died March 9 at Vail Valley Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was 61.

She was born April 3, 1923, to Edward and Ethel Ruder on the family ranch along Gore Creek near Vail. She was raised and educated in Eagle County. The Ruder family was among the first of the county's settlers, living in a ranch house that is now the location of the Westin Hotel. The family sold the ranch to Vail Associates in the early 1960s.

(Obituary cut) manager for various governmental agencies in Grand Junction, Glenwood Springs, Pueblo and Salida for many years. She was interested in writing the history of Eagle and Lake counties, and Camp Hale. She was also interested in poetry and photography. She was a contributor to area newspapers.

She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church in Minturn.

Pallbearers at the funeral were George Schaeffer, Larry Sparks, Wesley Swanson, Alan Salazar, Al Salazar and Claire Elliott. Honorary pallbearers were Rich Winkeller, Doug Alber and Greg Alber.

Mrs. Fahey is survived by a son, William Robert Fahey Jr. of Pueblo; a brother, Edward "Buddy" Ruder of Minturn; three sisters, Marie Williams of Minturn, Alice Alber of Grand Junction and Vivian Alber of Grand Junction; and (obituary cut).
