FRANK GORDON PASSES AWAY AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Frank Gordon , for twenty-two years a resident of Gypsum valley , passed away at the Tyler hospital in Eagle last Saturday morning , May 11 , 1940 , following a lon g illness . Mr . Gordon was a fine gentleman , and in his passing the community loses one of its best citizens . A loyal citizen , a good neighbor , he was highly respected by all who enjoyed his acquaintance . Born in Maysville , Ky ., September 26 , 1872 , he was 67 years , 7 months , 15 days old at the time of his death . When he was but a mere boy , the family moved to the Indian Territory , later to become the state of Oklahoma . Here , at the age of 24 years , he was married to Dora Moreland . To this union eight children were born—five boys and three girls—of whom five are living . All of the family were at his -bedside when he passed a * way with the exception of one son , James , of Stillwell , Okla ., who arrived a few hours after his fathers
death . . The family came to Gypsum in 1918 , and have made their home in the valley
ever since . The deceased is survived by his widow , Dora Gordon , two daughters : Mrs . Wm . Grundell , Gypsum , Colo ., and Mrs . Paid Schultz , Edwards , Colo . ; three sons : James and Amos , Stillwell , Okla ., and Cleaburne Gordon , Gypsum ; two brothers : Otis and William , and one sister , Hattie , all of Gypsum ; one grandson , Jackie Schultz , of Edwards . Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Gypsum Monday afternoon , with Rev . F . W . Casselman giving the discourse , and the body was laid away in Cedar Hill cemetery at Gypsum , the Andre Mourtary of Eagle having charge of the burial . A large number of friends and relatives attended the last services of a man whom they all respected and adinjred . Pall bearers at the funeral were : W . J . Randall , J . D . Allen , E . J . Bindley , Elmer Lundgren , W . H . Morgan , and B . F Long
