Lillie Jean Field [Fields], former Eagle resident, died May 16 at Community Hospital in Grand Junction following an extended illness. She was 64. Services were held may 18 at Martin Mortuary with Pastor Larry Creel officiating. Burial was at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grand Junction. She was born September 20, 1930, in Eagle to John D. York and Lillie Ellen Pinkerton. She pent her childhood in Muskogee and Tahelquah, Oklahoma and later attended Eagle High School. She was a homemaker and during her 15 years in Eagle was also known as a good cook who worked in various local restaurants. She married Harold Helms and later, Gary Fields. She had lived in Grand Junction since 1990 and also resided in Anchorage, Alaska and Astoria, OR. She enjoyed football, hand-making dolls for Eskimo orphans, and had a collection of teddy bears. Survivors include daughters Billie Kahling of Grand Junction, Janice Strauss of Northglenn, Colo., and Brenda Robidoux of Wright, WY; sisters Charlene Carleton of Sallas, Marie Stephenson of Saginaw, TX and Peggy Currie of Plano, TX; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren Stephen, Raymond, Chris, Jeri, and Keri; great-grandchildren Jessica, Anthony, and Wishawna.
