Memorial services will be held in Edwards today Dec. 4, for James Paul Filter. Filter died Nov 29 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 70. Filter, a retired warehouse supervisor, was born April 2, 1927 in Bloomfield, Neb., to Herbert and Helen (Buchholz) Filter. He graduated from Littleton High School. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II Filter married Georgia Nimon on August 23, 1947 in Denver. Filter is survived by his wife, Georgia; two sons, Richard of Gypsum and David of Grand Junction; daughter Carol King of Edwards; a brother, Kenneth of Littleton; a sister, Julia Overstreet of Grand Rapids, MI; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Rebecca Filter.
