Ronnie, a year ago today I
lost my brother, hero,
protector, confidant, best
friend and a big chuck of my
heart.
I miss you so much and am
so sorry I was unable to get
you to a Cancer Center of
America or at least Denver,
where they could do a stem
cell transplant. When we
discussed we needed you there within two weeks, while you
were strong enough to travel; you said sounds like a plan, let’s
do it. I pledged to you everything I had including every part of
my body. I am so sorry when you didn’t want to sign the power
of attorney saying it was stupid as you could sign the papers
yourself that I said it would probably make things go faster but
you still looked at me with questioning eyes the whole time you
signed. I am so, so sorry as that is what stopped us from going
to a more knowledgeable medical facility so you might have had
a better chance, I tried to get the ball rolling but was told to
leave it alone by others. You had been my hero and protected
me my whole life but I wasn’t allowed to help you when you
needed me and I am lost as to why you weren’t worth the best
of the best treatments out there an you said you wanted them. I
am so sorry and I love you so much, I just don’t understand. I
want to thank you for all the special talks, outings, craziness,
and just special things brothers and sisters share, I didn’t receive
those signed papers from the attorney so I will find the card you
gave me and get them. I thought it was a joke when you said
you thought you had been replaced because all the alone time
you had spent the last couple of years but I still don’t know. . .
My dear brother, thank you for all the good times together and
you always having my back. I told you a lot that I loved you but
it is never enough. I will close this just like our last time
together - “close those baby blues, I love you and I will see you
tomorrow.” You shook your head yes and said “I love you too
and ok.” Love Forever, Carolann, your baby sister.
