William Nelson

William Nelson passed away October 5, 2016 at St. Mary’s Reginal Medical Center, he was 86.
Bill was born on February 5, 1930 in LaFollette, Tennessee from the union of William Jasper and Alice Nelson. He married Merlene Nelson and she preceded him in death. He was a retired truck driver and lived in the Grand Junction and Fruita area for 50 years. Bill
was a member and Deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church. He
enjoyed fishing, hunting, crafting traveling, hiking and working
with his church family.
Bill leaves behind a son, Dale (Denise) Nelson of Grand
Junction, Colorado; a daughter, Billi Young of Converse, Texas; and a step-daughter, Bonnie Lynn McFarlan; three
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 13,
2016 at Martin Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at
10 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church
with Pastor Bob Murr officiating. Burial will follow at
Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

William Robert Nelson, 86, Fruita, died Oct. 5, 2016, at St.
Mary’s Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Martin Mortuary.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel Baptist
Church.
He was a truck driver.
Survivors include one son, Dale of Grand Junction; two daughters, Billi Young of Converse, Texas, and Bonnie Lynn McFarland of Grand Junction; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
