Funeral of Fanny Frieler
The sad death of which mention was made in our last week issue brought sorrow to many , hearts . Owing to absence of some of the relatives the funeral was not held until Sunday after noon at 3 o clock. It is seldom that all have been so deeply touched as on this occasion , the children especially feeling the sudden loss of their popular little playmate. Rev . L ; . J . Hole preached _from the text of II . Cor . 4-1- and a class of little girls ¦ _= and two of Fanny s favorite songs . In the outline of her life which was read it appears that she was born in Basalt on Nov. 4, 1895 and was thus between 10 and 11 years of age. Her mother died 9 years ago and Fanny has lived with her great aunt, Mrs. Gabriel Luchsinger, ever since. She leaves a father and two brothers and a great uncle and aunt and a number of other relatives. Mr. Frieler, her father, came from Denver to attend the funeral services.
A large number of floral offerings testified to the deep affection in which she was held and the added testimonial of her teachers, both in Sunday school and public schools as to her faithful and obedient spirit, was tenderly expressed. The choirs ang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and the "Jewel" song with deep feeling and after the large congregation in attendance had passed before the little white casket the remains were followed by many to their last resting place in the cemetery. The little girls who preceded the casket bearing the floral emblems were Fay Decker, Ruth Hildreth, Jessie Lupton, Blanche Valiqauette, Alice Hanson, Ruby Clarke, Alvina Dickson and Ethel Siffler. The pallbearers were Rialto Ould, Dick Griffith, Lambert Hildreth, John Troendly, Harry Hanson, and Ernest Mangnall, and they were accompanied by all the boys of the fifth grade, the grade to which Fanny belonged.
